General Navigation

Note: The Freeway 2000 is no longer in production. New installations should use a Freeway 3115, a Freeway 3215, or a Freeway 3415 instead.

Based on a passive backplane using a VMEbus, the Freeway 2000 contains 2 slots for VME-based Intelligent Communications Processor boards which support up to 32 serial ports of legacy protocols per enclosure. LAN connections are via standard Ethernet. An optional SCSI hard drive can be used to store boot parameters and network applications.

  1. Intelligent Communications Processor boards (ICPs) manage the legacy protocols and contain serial ports that connect to the WAN. The Freeway 2000 uses ICP6000X boards.

  2. The maximum number of ports depends on the electrical interface. The larger number is the maximum ports when using the EIA-232 electrical interface. The smaller number is the maximum ports for all other electrical interfaces.

  3. Optional

  4. Excluding ICPs
