Note: The Freeway 1300 is no longer in production. New installations should use a Freeway 3115, a Freeway 3215, or a Freeway 3415 instead.

Designed for large-scale installations, the Freeway 1300 supports up to 96 serial ports of legacy protocols. The passive backplane contains 12 slots for PCI-based Intelligent Communications Processor boards. LAN support includes 10/100 Ethernet with optional support for Dual Ethernet. A flash disk or optional hard disk is available for storing boot parameters and network applications. To protect against down time in demanding environments, the Freeway 1300 is available with dual independent, hot-swappable power supplies using separate AC feeds.

  1. Intelligent Communications Processor boards (ICPs) manage the legacy protocols and contain serial ports that connect to the WAN. The Freeway 1300 uses ICP2432 boards.

  2. The maximum number of ports depends on the electrical interface. The larger number is the maximum ports when using the EIA-232 electrical interface. The smaller number is the maximum ports for all other electrical interfaces.

  3. Optional

  4. Excluding ICPs
